did you know that the same proccess which created the big bang and all this stuff we have in our universe is the same proccess that keeps your body together right now? there are particles which are called "virtual particles" that arise out of nothing and disappear back into nothing, quadrillions of times every second all around you. they are virtual because their properties are slightly strange, and the universe doesn't "allow" them to exist for very long. (email me if that reasoning bothers you, i'll go into further detail.) but given the right circumstances, they can become real particles and not be forced to disappear. suddenly, amidst nothingness, this [real particles being created] occurred at insane numbers and created the beginning of all of this. everything that exists in this giant fucking universe was created in a fraction of a second. before we were stardust, we were nothing. with the potential to become everything. and it happened.

Re: quantum reality
Tue, November 1, 2005 - 11:26 AMWell, that's a non-zero probability. -

Re: quantum reality
Tue, November 1, 2005 - 2:51 PMyes, pretty much - everything is a non-zero probability. however, all energy adds up to 0. -

Re: quantum reality
Tue, November 1, 2005 - 7:14 PMNo actually, mathematically it has been proven that all 4 forces (Strong & Weak Nuclear Force, Gravity and Electro-Magnetic Force) add up to a total Energy of 0 throughout the whole universe. Quantum physics makes this a must. -

Re: quantum reality
Tue, November 1, 2005 - 10:09 PMSounds like the same things the old greek philosophers were saying. And about as practical. -

Re: quantum reality
Wed, November 2, 2005 - 2:36 PMthe greeks were the first to "discover" particle physics. the word "atom" is a greek word meaning "indivisible". they were quite keen back then, it was only religion that halted science for about 1500 years.

Re: quantum reality
Wed, November 2, 2005 - 8:00 PMAh, but 0=1. As in, how many zeros? One of them.
But of course, 0/1 also equals 2; since, as soon as the singular zero has been defined, you have also defined a second body which consists of all things apart from the zero.
And of course, 0/1/2 also equals three; because there is the singularity, the not-singularity, and you the observer who is defining these things.
And so on.

Fri, November 4, 2005 - 4:17 PMThe trick is to stick the bowl in one nostril, gargle water, then light it and commence making out. Then you truly are one with the bong.
