anybody got any idea of, even just a rough idea, of where it might possibly be this year? we're trying to make travel plans, firm down our bunny sitter and, well, get our excitment juices targeted toward the right place.
11 days to go :-)

thanks for a heads up.

There is still much scouting happening...

from what I know the most activity is happening in southern Oregon and southern Washington..

Which is well, Cascadia... nearly the entire realm that scouting takes place... so, I guess that's not much help.

Any other scouters have anything to report?

Remember there is also posts being made on the forum at www.mutantfest.org you ca get updates there as well.

We (PAN-ZEN) have another opportunity to scout this weekend so.. cross the fingers.

        RE: 43° 33' N; 120° 4' W
        43.557258, -120.074332 (WGS84)

        water, obsidian, BLM.

our scouters that were heading to bend have been unable to make out there... they can still go out on saturday if there is no word of a site...

If something gets nailed down before then, or if someone else is heading out there, please let us know so we don't waste gas that could fuel beatz and freqz..

these coordinates - has anyone actually scouted them out? from google earth, it looks like there's a water body, is in the middle of nowhere and about equidistant from all major places we're all coming from!
it's a little too far for us to nip up there and check it out though.....

we are planning to head out there on Saturnday...

at our last meeting we also dig the google earth thing to explore it a bit virtually before heading out...

it does appear to have all we need... including being only an hour or so from bend, which has medical facilities, food, fuel, etc..
and yes, there is water.. its BLM land... fairly central.... seemingly eco-resilient... and there’s obsidian!

The tricky part is find an actual spot in the area that is able to accommodate 7 or so busses, numerous smaller camps, plenty of parking, etc...

we have scouted several spots this year that came close... but not close enough..

we will certainly do our best to find a home for the fest on Saturnday!

i really appreciate not 'feeling' in the dark
when its this close...much to plan, organize and gather
more info even if its unsure...is at least honest and collaborative in a way.

gargoyles of wind at your back
and mutant faerie guides to lead the way-

              thankx again-to ALL the scouts
more this year than ever maybe...
all scouts find me for tea and massage
              Rescu or maybe Rascals Camp
              (not far from SPAZ)
